VEHICLE RETURN CONDITIONS

In case of delays in returning the vehicles, the option is only valid up to 59 minutes.

PAYMENT REFUND CONDITIONS

The total rental amount and security deposits are collected at the beginning of the rental with a credit card belonging to the person renting the vehicle, which bears their own name, surname, and credit card number. There is no option for cash payment, debit card, or virtual card transactions.

The rental agreement is opened at the time of rental and is arranged according to the laws and practices of the country where the rental is made. The General Rental Conditions of SMT FLEET are applicable for rentals.

Any difference in the invoice amount at the end of the rental is collected or refunded at the rental point. The credit card owner must be personally present at the time of rental. Rentals cannot be made with someone else's credit card. A certain percentage of deposit is collected in addition to the rental fee from the credit card presented by the customer, depending on the brand and model of the vehicle to be rented. Therefore, there must be sufficient limit available for the total amount of rent and deposit. The amount collected as a deposit will be refunded to the same card after the rental period ends, deducting any additional services, securities, missing fuel, damage, fines, etc., that were not included in the reservation. Deposit refunds may reflect on your credit card within 3-5 business days due to internal banking communications.

ONLINE PREPAID (PAY NOW) RESERVATION AND RENTAL AND RETURN PROCESSES

The term "Online Prepayment/Immediate Payment" indicates that you can pay the rental fee and any additional services you choose online, immediately. The online reservation page, whether the reservation is confirmed or not, does not replace the car rental agreement. A rental is made in the name of the person mentioned in the Prepaid Reservation Form detail.

Due to 3D security, it is not mandatory for the card owner and the reservation holder to be the same person during online payments, but it is required that the reservation holder must present their own credit card at the time of rental for the deposit transaction to be processed.

If SMT FLEET cannot provide the rental service due to reasons attributable to itself, it will refund the entire amount previously paid by the customer. Rentals made at SMT FLEET rental offices are limited to the amounts written on the SMT FLEET Prepaid Reservation Forms for reservations that have been prepaid.
SMT FLEET Prepaid Reservation forms do not include additional service and security requests that our customers may request at the beginning or during the rental, as well as expenses such as fuel, one-way, traffic fines, and damage costs (situations where the conditions described in the section of the rental agreement on what to do in the event of an accident and theft are not met). For these expenses, our customers must present their personal credit card at the time of rental.

SMT FLEET is not responsible for any commissions, exchange rate differences, service fees, etc., that the banks of the used credit card may apply for any reason during the reflection of the payments to our customers' credit card.

If SMT FLEET cannot provide the rental service due to reasons attributable to itself, it will refund the entire amount previously paid by the customer.

The SMT FLEET Prepaid Reservation amount includes the vehicle rental fee and any additional services you have taken at the time of reservation. For additional services and potential extras (HGS, fuel, traffic fine, one-way, situations where the conditions described in the rental agreement on what to do in the event of an accident and theft are not met, etc.) that you will receive from the office at the start of the rental, you must present your personal credit card.

Rental conditions for prepaid reservations are listed below.

  • The rental day, time, vehicle information, and rental office cannot be changed for pre-paid reservations.
  • The total amount for the vehicle rental fee and selected additional products and insurance packages will be collected during the reservation process.
  • The discount for pre-paid reservations cannot be combined with any other campaign.
  • If the rental period exceeds the period specified in the reservation form, an additional fee will be charged for the extension days, with a 20% discount applied to the list prices.
  • In case of early return of the vehicle before the reservation return end date, the unused days will not be refunded.
  • The full amount will be refunded for cancellations made up to 24 hours before the vehicle pick-up time.
  • For cancellations made less than 24 hours before the start of the rental:
    • 1-day deduction for 1-3 day reservations
    • 2-day deduction for 4-7 day reservations
    • 20% deduction for 8 days and above reservations
  • If the vehicle is delayed for more than 2 hours, the reservation will be automatically canceled and no refund will be issued.
  • The refund process takes 3 to 5 business days depending on the bank's transaction volume.
  • Only personal credit cards are accepted for the deposit (cash and debit cards are not accepted).
  • The deposit amount varies depending on the rental type and vehicle group and is allocated from the renter's credit card.
  • The credit card must show the renter's name, surname, and credit card number.
  • There must be sufficient credit limit on the credit card for the rental fee and deposit.
  • The renter must present their driver's license and credit card at the SMT FİLO office.
  • 1 credit card from a different bank is required to rent mid- and upper-segment vehicles.
  • Driver's licenses must be legible and not worn.
  • If the ID number is not written on the driver's license, the ID card must be presented.
  • Foreign nationals must present their passport/entry stamp to the rental office.

IMPORTANT NOTES

In the event of an accident, it is mandatory to keep an accident report form according to the nature of the accident without moving the vehicle or to apply to the nearest police station or gendarmerie for accident, theft, and alcohol detection reports, and to inform the 24/7 Communication Center at 444 28 47. Accident report forms issued only by Traffic Police can be obtained from the police by the vehicle users or through e-government. In case of vehicle theft, it is also mandatory to apply to the nearest police station or gendarmerie and inform the 24/7 Communication Center at 444 28 47. Otherwise, all purchased insurances will be considered void, and all types of damages incurred, including material and moral losses to third parties, will be collected from the renter. In case of vehicle breakdown or need for support for any reason, assistance should be sought from the 24/7 service number 444 28 47.

  • Please ensure that the Vehicle Delivery and Pickup Form is filled out and mutually signed at the beginning and return of the rental. 
  • To extend the rental period or to report/change the return time and day, please call the office where you made the rental or our Reservation center. 
  • In case of an accident, vehicle breakdown, or need for support for any reason during the rental, you can call the Communication Center at 444 28 47 and press 2. 
  • If the vehicle's periodic maintenance mileage is reached during your use, please call our Communication Center to continue your journey safely.
  • In case of UNILATERAL accidents or theft of the vehicle, accident, theft, and alcohol detection reports should be obtained without moving the vehicle by applying to the nearest police station or gendarmerie. In BILATERAL accidents, except in the cases reported below, drivers are obliged to fill out the Material Damage Accident Detection Report as specified on the report according to how the accident occurred. In bilateral accidents, traffic accident detection reports are issued by traffic police only in the following cases: 
  • If the driver is driving a motor vehicle without a license, 
  • If the driver is underage, 
  • If there is suspicion of alcohol or mental health issues with the driver, 
  • If one of the vehicles involved in the accident belongs to government institutions, 
  • If damage occurs to goods belonging to government institutions, 
  • If damage only occurs to third parties' goods in the traffic accident, 
  • If one of the vehicles involved in the accident lacks traffic insurance, 
  • If the traffic accident results in death and/or bodily harm.

ASSURANCES

Below is an explanation about our insurance options. These explanations are general and intended for informational purposes. SMT FLEET reserves the right to change this information over time. The insurances included in your reservation are listed in your price offer and/or your reservation confirmation.

Insurances not included in your prices can be purchased at our sales offices at the beginning of the rental. Detailed information about applicable limits can also be obtained from our sales offices.

Voluntary Financial Liability Insurance: With this insurance, you can increase the damage limit for third parties under traffic insurance up to 1 million TL.

Mini Damage Insurance: This insurance provides the customer with the right to repair up to 1500 TL for single-sided damage situations where a report or record cannot be drawn up.

Super Mini Damage Insurance: This insurance provides the customer with the right to repair up to 4000 TL for single-sided damage situations where a report or record cannot be drawn up.

Tire Glass Light Mirror Insurance: This insurance covers damages to the vehicle's front lights, windshield, side mirrors, and rear brake lights without the need for a police/gendarmerie report or accident report form, based on the valid written statement of the driver, excluding accidents.

Personal Accident Insurance: This insurance covers the driver and all passengers in the vehicle, based on the number of seats in the vehicle.

THE INSURANCES DESCRIBED ABOVE ARE GENERAL AND INTENDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES. DETAILED INFORMATION CAN BE OBTAINED FROM OUR RENTAL OFFICES.

RENTAL WITH A FOREIGN DRIVING LICENSE

  • Turkish citizens who will rent know and accept that it is only possible to drive in our country with driver's licenses obtained from foreign countries under the following terms and conditions:
    1. With driver's licenses obtained from foreign countries, the vehicle can be used for a maximum of 1 year from the date of entry into our country.
    2. Those who have been in our country for more than six months are required to have the Turkish translation of their driver's license approved by foreign representatives or a notary, along with their driver's license, while driving.
    3. At the end of one year, in order to drive in our country, it is mandatory to replace the driver's licenses obtained from foreign countries with our country's driver's license.
  • Foreign nationals who will rent know and accept that it is possible to drive in our country with the driver's licenses they have obtained from foreign countries under the following terms and conditions:
    1. With driver's licenses obtained from foreign countries, the vehicle can be used for a maximum of six months from the date of entry into our country.
    2. At the end of six months, in order to drive in our country, driver's licenses obtained from foreign countries must be replaced with our country's driver's license.
  • For foreign driver's licenses, if the driver's license issuance date and the customer's name are written in Latin alphabet and can be read, car rental can be made. If it is not written in the Latin alphabet, a notarized translation must be declared.

Without prejudice to the relevant laws and the provisions of bilateral and multilateral agreements, the procedures and principles regarding the replacement of driver's licenses obtained from foreign countries with our country's driver's licenses are stated below:

  • The application can be made to any traffic registration institution.
  • The information and documents that must be submitted during the application are determined by the General Directorate of Security.
  • For those who will obtain a driver's license, the conditions of not being convicted, age, education and health in the same article are required, except for the education and examination requirements specified in Article 41 of Law No. 2918. However, without prejudice to the provisions of bilateral or multilateral agreements and practices, for foreigners with diplomatic exemption, their written declarations that they meet the necessary conditions are taken as basis.
  • When necessary, examination and research can be carried out regarding the accuracy of the driver's license through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or our foreign representatives.
  • Temporarily obtained foreign driver's licenses cannot be changed.
  • Driving licenses obtained from countries that are not parties to the Road Traffic Convention and where we do not have a bilateral agreement regarding the mutual recognition and exchange of driver's licenses cannot be exchanged with our country's driver's license.
  • Driver's licenses obtained by Turkish citizens from countries that are party to the Road Traffic Convention are replaced with equivalent or equivalent driver's licenses.
  • Our country's driver's licenses, which are equivalent to the driver's licenses issued by foreigners to drive motorized bicycles (mopeds), motorcycles, rubber-tired tractors, work machines or automobiles from countries that are parties to the Road Traffic Convention, and driver's licenses issued to use other types of vehicles are our country's Class B driver's licenses. However, the documents of those who are authorized to drive these vehicles with a trailer are replaced with our country's BE class driver's license. If driver's licenses other than these are requested, training and examination requirements are also required.
  • In order for people who have obtained a driver's license from foreign countries to obtain a different class of driver's license in our country, they must convert the driver's license they obtained from foreign countries into our country's driver's license.
    Driver's licenses obtained from foreign countries, which are replaced with our country's driver's licenses, are sent to the relevant country.
  • Action will be taken in accordance with Article 39 of Law No. 2918 against those who drive without meeting the conditions specified in this article with their driver's licenses obtained from foreign countries.

RENTAL WITH CHIP ID CARD

In all your rental transactions, you must present a driver's license appropriate to the vehicle class being rented, as well as your old or new ID documents.

EXTENSION OF TIME, VEHICLE CHECK AND MONTHLY MILEAGE PROCEDURES

  1. Extending the Rental Period: If you want to extend your rental period, you must apply and receive approval. Any extensions you make without approval will constitute a violation of the lease agreement. Since the fee information in your rental agreement is limited to the dates specified in the agreement, you can call the SMT FLEET Office where you made your rental for updated price information on the dates you will extend your rental period.
  2. Monthly Mileage Collection: If there is a mileage excess in the rental you want to terminate, the mileage fee will be charged separately, in line with the monthly mileage limit (3,000 km) and mileage fees specified in the rental conditions. There is no pool mileage application for monthly rentals over one month. If there is an excess mileage limit, it will be collected from you every month, in line with the updated mileage information obtained by verbal declaration. Considering the total time used when the rental ends, if the total mileage is below the specified limit, the mileage excess fee will be refunded based on your last contract.
  3. Control Times of Vehicles: For monthly or daily rentals that continue without a price change, you must bring the vehicle to the office every 3 months within the scope of vehicle checks. You are obliged to visit our SMT FLEET Office within the scope of price changes and contract renewals.
